Plot
Akbar celebrates his 18th birthday in Tehran’s Center for Correction and Rehabilitation.
He has been held in the juvenile detention center for committing murder at the age of sixteen when he was condemned to death. Legally speaking, he had to grasp the age of eighteen so that the conviction could be carried out.
He is considered one of the most prominent filmmakers of Iranian cinema as well as world cinema in the 21st century. His films have gained recognition for their focus on the human condition, and portrayals of intimate and challenging stories of internal family conflicts. Inhe was included on the annual Time list of the most influential people in the world. Farhadi made his directorial film debut with the drama Dancing in the Dustfollowed by The Beautiful City and Fireworks WednesdayNow, Akbar is transferred to prison to await the day of his execution. A'la, a friend of Akbar, who himself has undergone imprisonment for burglary, soon after his release tries desperately to obtain the consent of Akbar's plaintiff so as to stop the execution.
