Rita Uchenna Nkem Dominic Nwaturuocha (born 12 July )[1][2] is a Nigerian actress.[3][4] In , Dominic won the Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role.[5][6]
Early life
Rita Dominic is a multiple award-winning Nollywoodactress, producer, model, television personality, investor, a philanthropist and co-founder of the Audrey Silva Company.
She has been regarded as one of the best industrious actresses in Nollywood and also one of the highest-paid actresses in Nigeria.
Biography. Rita Uchenna Nkem Dominic Nwaturuocha (born 12 July ) is classed as one of the forefront iconic Nollywood figures. Known in all parastatals as Rita Dominic, she is a celebrated Nigerian actress, businesswoman, and television personality.
Dominic serves as a GLO ambassador and the CEO of Rita Dominic Productions.[7]
Dominic is a member of the Royal Nwaturuocha family of Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area in Imo State, Southeast Nigeria.[1] Dominic is the youngest of four children.[2] Her late parents were health care professionals, her father was a medical surgeon and her mother a nursing officer.
Education
Dominic attended Federal Government College, Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria, before heading to the University of Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria, where she graduated with a BA (Honours) Degree in Theatre Arts in [8]
Career
Dominic started performing as a child, appearing in school plays and children's television shows in Imo State.
In , she starred in her first production, A Time to Kill.[2] She has produced several movies including The Therapist, Light in the Dark, Bound, The Blindspot and Desecration. Over the years, she has received numerous honours.
She also won the top actress award for the movie The Meeting in and She won the best actress in TV series.[9] Dominic won the Municipality People Awards in as the Most Outstanding Actress.[10] Dominic has starred in over Nollywood productions.[4]
Personal life
In , Dominic, via her Instagram page, called for the prosecution of year-old Idris Ebiloma.
Dominic accused Ebiloma of raping month old Khloe, on 31 August at the victim's place in Asokoro, Abuja.[11]
On 5 April , Dominic announced her engagement to Daily Times publisher Fidelis Anosike, and on 19 April , they held their traditional wedding in Imo State, Dominic's state of origin.[12][13]
In November , Dominic held her white wedding with Fidelis Anosike in England.
In attendance were Kate Henshaw, Chioma Chukwuka and others.[14]
